Confronted with war, devastation and persecution, Palestinian artist Nidaa Badwan has gone to extremes to make her artwork flourish: She’s spent more than a year shuttered in her tiny bedroom in Gaza.Badwan, 28, says she chose physical isolation – on her own terms – over the daily oppression, by Israeli authorities and Hamas militants, that is beyond her control.
